Thanksgiving

We did our usual this Thanksgiving.
We've given up the driving all over town and just spend the day at my mom's the entire time instead of leaving and going to Josh's two other aunts' houses. We love getting to see them on holidays too but it just ends up being way too stressful.
My Uncle Mike and his girlfriend Marcy were in town for Thanksgiving. It was really great to see him. He has made some big changes in his life this year and it was really amazing to see what a difference there was in him. My mom really had a great time with them while they were visiting. 
The boys were stoked to watch the Thanksgiving parade with me this year. I've always loved watching the parades so it was nice to be able to share that with them this year.
Josh brought the mashed potatoes again this year....he really does make the best. We brought a potato bar this time with three different flavors. He made horseradish mashed, country style and a garlic and mushroom. They were a big hit.
All of the food was amazing as usual. My mom made some of my grandma's appetizers that she always would make during family functions. It was delicious!!
The boys had a great day playing and running around. Floyd found this remote control dump truck that they played with non stop all day long. 

I was passed the torch this year and informed that this will be our last year for Thanksgiving at my mom's. Next year will be at our house since we have more room to be able to put a table that we can all sit at together.
I have to get on the hunt now for Thanksgiving decorations for next year!

Thanksgiving was great. The food was phenomenal as always, the company was awesome.
I love being around my family during the holidays. I wish things didn't always have to be so hectic and everyone having other stops to make throughout the day.
I really do love getting to spend the time with everybody, laughing, talking and of course demolishing some amazing food.

It was a pretty cold day this year. My mom's streak of amazing weather for family functions didn't quite come through that day.

This would be what I look forward to every year! Floyd's amazing Sweet Potatoes.

Thanksgiving 2007

We had a really good day all around. The boys were pretty awesome all day. They ate a ton of food. We went to Josh's Aunt Mary's and the boys got to play with their second cousins that are twins also. They are about a month older than the boys but SO much smaller.

We ate a ton at his Aunts and the boys got to play and then we headed to my mom's. We got there before my sister and brother in law. My mom tried to "help" my stepdad with the turkey so we ate about an hour later than they had planned. But, it was really nice to just hang out and relax.
The food was awesome and it was really good to spend time with the family.
The boys loved playing with Aunt Ashley.
We found out that we have little olive addicts on our hands. They ate a ton of black olives.
Taylor was calling Grandma "Mammaw" when I would tell him we were going to grandma's.
Callum also pointed out her Mammaw and called her Mammaw and pointed out my Pappaw and called him Pappaw off my mom's wall of pictures. That was really strange.
The boys totally LOVE their Pappaw. Floyd was so great with them. They had such a good time.
My mom cried when Callum went up and gave Floyd a big ole kiss. It was so cute.

We haven't done a darn thing today but hang around the house. It's been nice to just relax.
We sent Josh's mom with some money and instructions to get us an external drive that was on sale at Target....but they were already sold out when they got there at 5am!

Thanksgiving

We had a fairly exhausting Thanksgiving. We got up that morning and had breakfast. Waited around to actually get hot water and bathe the boys so they would smell all baby good for the day.
We packed up two diaper bags, the boys carriers, their car seats, bouncy seats and ourselves and drove to the west end to get Josh's mom. Then we drove out to prp to Josh's aunt Mary’s house. The boys got to meet their second cousins Joe Joe, Jonathan and Krista (their fraternal twins born a month before the boys).
We took pictures of the two sets of twins, which I’ll post later. We only got a few and our camera died even though Josh had it plugged in all night.
We hung out with his family for a bit and had some food. His Aunt made the greatest ham in existence. It was so delicious. Then we drove back across town and Josh popped in our house to get the peanut butter fudge and hummus he made and we went to my Mom's. They had already sat down and ate so we made our plates and had some more food. We had a good time. We got to see my cousin and her husband; she hasn't seen the boys since they were born.

By this time it was about 6:30 and we again packed up the car and headed back to the west end to his aunt Bernadine’s. Everyone had just left from her house so we got to sit and talk to her and her husband and that was nice.
We had some dessert and then finally came home. It was only 8:30 but I felt like we had been out all day and it had to be at least midnight. I was exhausted. The boys were super cranky that night and really showed the wear of driving all around town and having a million people hold them.

Needless to say we won't be doing that for Christmas.
It was really nice to see so much family for the holiday though, and I’m really happy that we got to spend time with Josh’s side of the family as well.
