Failed Pumpking Patch Attempt

We went to Huber’s Orchards on our Monday off with the purpose of me being able to get lots of pictures of the boys in the pumpkin patch.....but unfortunately we were rained out. The boys enjoyed the ride on the tractor out to the patch and being rained on! I did manage to get a few of them in their wagon on our way to the pumpkin patch before it started to rain.

Taylor was busy checking everything out. I think he was checking out the geese in the pond.

Callum was a lot more cooperative. They looked so cute in their skeleton hoodies.

Bring the laughs

10-14-07 (19)

I brighten your day with this.
My kids the pants head crazies.
:)

They can't get enough of wearing their pants on their heads. They think it's just the funniest thing ever. If they take them off on accident they'll bring the pants back over to me to put back on.
Hey, at least I know they'll wear hats this winter.
I’m almost proud of myself that I haven’t been using the internet at home at all.
I am usually addicted to checking my mail over and over or checking livejournal.
Lately I’ve just been trying to limit myself to checking it at work…or just checking my email real quick at home. I really got behind from the move.

I finally brought in my memory card to work today to upload pictures of the boys from this weekend.
The bath pictures really make me smile.
They had such a blast.
We were all soaked by the time they were done.

Callum used to LOVE Minnie licking his face. He would put his face up to hers and just laugh.
He’s finally over it…like the rest of us! Haha. She licks so much. Now he is just grossed out.

Taylor tells her to GO when she tries to lick him.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Callum

It was like wrangling cats to get them both to smile! haha

Five Months Old

Five Months Old
January 29 2007

My sweet boys. You are five months old! Time is just whizzing past and I can't believe how fast you are both growing.
Taylor my cuddle bug, you have four teeth now! You are still just as talkative and such a happy baby. You smile all the time and you just recently figured out how to blow rasberries and just love it. You rolled over for the first time a couple days ago! I took a picture right afterwards. You and Callum were laying on the blanket on the floor with all your toys and you were reaching for something and you went right over. You did it again this week. Soon enough you're going to be rolling everywhere on your own! Although you don't like it when you roll to your tummy since you don't like tummy time very much! You'd rather be on your back getting at your feet! Your feet are almost always damp from you chewing on the feet of your pjs. For the most part you wake up a happy boy just smiling away.

Callum, you sweet boy. You have three of your front teeth and are still working on the fourth one. You both have been so miserable teething. Hopefully it will get better soon. You just love sitting with your daddy or I. You have been laughing so much lately. You find everything funny. You sleep in your swing mostly, with the teething it's what seems to soothe you so you can get some sleep. You are a champ at holding up your head and you love tummy time. You poor thing, you wake up like your mommy! It takes you a little while to wake up and get into a good mood.
You LOVE the jumperoo that grandma got you guys for Christmas. You just jump away in it. It looks like you're dancing. It just cracks daddy and I up.

Neither of you are sleeping through the night for the most part. Mommy is still sleeping in the living room with you both. Hopefully we can transition to the crib soon! I figure that once we start some solids that maybe you will sleep through the night and not wake up for a bottle at 3 in the morning.
Daddy is great and leaves his door open so he can get up to help if I can't get to someone fast enough. You both have quick tempers and aren't very happy when I can't get your bottles as fast as you'd like to have them!
We'll be having our first move with you guys real soon, but I'll be able to write about that more in your next letter.

You are both such a joy to Dad and I. We have adored watching you grow from such little newborns to such big aware babies. You are such gorgeous babies. Everyone just fawns over you when we take you anywhere. I can't blame them, I may be biased but you are both such handsome little boys. You melt my heart everyday. I love you both so very much. I am so excited to watch you two grow up.
The boys had their four month appointment today. They both had four shots a piece...my poor babies. The nurse was pleased with their development. She sorta dismissed me when I mentioned that they were teething until she did the check in the ears and then went to check their mouths and was like oh my goodness.....you weren't kidding. Apparently they have a lot of moms that think their babies are teething early.....
Taylor weighed in at 15lbs 14.2oz putting him in the 70th percentile. He measured 26 inches putting him in the 85th percentile.
Callum weighed in at 13lbs 11.6oz putting him in the 30th percentile. He measured at supposedly 24 inches (which i think she did wrong) putting him in the 20th percentile.
Both of their head measurements were right around 17 inches.

They are growing so fast. They just amaze me everyday. Taylor is sitting up on his own for short spurts. When he gets real mad he'll sit himself up as well which just cracks me up.
They are little snuggle bugs tonight after their shots.

They're starting to look more alike as they've grown.

Callum looks like a smaller Taylor
The boys were so good yesterday. We had a nice evening all of us just kind of hanging out in the living room one boy on each of our laps. I love nights like that. We got a couple minutes to ourselves to cuddle before Josh was off to bed and I passed out like a light. I’ve been so tired lately.
Callum woke up to eat at 1:30am after going to bed around 8 and then he slept until 7 this morning. Taylor woke up around 3am and then woke up at 7:30 to eat. All in all I got some pretty good sleep. I’ve been bad about sticking to putting them to bed in their cosleeper…especially when they’ve just eaten because the reflux is still bothering them some. Looks like when we move them to the cribs we’ll have to prop the mattress some.
I have some more pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Hey you kind of look like me.
(Taylor has taken to staring at his brother. It’s adorable. “they” say that now is when they start to get interested in baby faces and to show them pictures of other babies with different expressions. How nice to have a built in other baby for them to stare at! Haha)

Christmas 2006

I am still a bit upset that we didn’t think to get any of them with their presents wrapped….or with the tree :(
There’s always next year!

My mom had to take a picture as soon as we got there because she loved them in their Santa hats….too bad it came out blurry

Mommy & Both boys
We had our company Christmas dinner last night. It was really good food. We had a good time. Josh got all dressed up and looked so handsome. I really wish I had thought to take pictures.

The boys have been sleeping in their cosleeper at night now. They have been sleeping either with me or in their bouncy seats since they were born. Because of the reflux they used to just scream when we would put them in their cosleeper to sleep....but now as long as they are swaddled it goes just fine.
I moved the cosleeper out in the living room for now until they get adjusted to sleeping in it. But, it looks like I'll be back in my room soon.

Yay for my big boys. Hopefully from there we can move them into their cribs because they are already waking each other up and don't fit quite as well in the cosleeper together as they could have when they were smaller.

We've started talking about trying again for another baby in the future. We don't want one right now, and thankfully to the NuvaRing we won't be....but we figured that we can plan for when we want to start trying again. We figure a three year difference between a new baby and the boys would be good. It took us 9 months of no protection to get pregnant this time plus the pregnancy 9 months....so we know that there is a year and a half there at least.

I can't believe the boys are going to be four months old in nine days! It just trips me out that they have been here that long. My goodness. They grow so much everyday and are such good babies.
I can't imagine our lives without those boys.
I still have days where I can't believe how fast it was that I became a single mom of none....to engaged and a mother of two!

I wouldn't change a thing.

I still have this nagging feeling like I'm not done Christmas shopping. I want to get the boys some more things seeing as we only got them one thing....but my mom bought them a ton of stuff.
We barely have room for all the baby stuff we have in our apartment right now.
Goodness that place needs to be gone through and cleaned. I am sure I have stuff I can either sell, or give to Goodwill.
Who has time to do that when we both work 40 hours and have twins!?
A couple pictures for your viewing pleasure!
Some from the day we went to see Santa, the boys dressed up in their overalls.
I have one of Taylor in his Jumperoo that Grandma got them for Christmas and the boys last night while we were having some floor fun.

Santa

We took the boys to see Santa today. They were both super interested in all the lights and decorations around him and didn't really pay much attention to him....except Callum was real interested in his beard. He reached out a couple times sort of trying to touch but I guess decided against it! haha.
I had to try and get them distracted from the lights and beard to look at the camera but only successfully got Taylor to look, Callum still couldn't pull himself away from the beard!

Well, Taylor is definitely teething. He has a little tooth on the bottom already breaking through. You can rub your finger on his gums and feel the sharp little tooth!
I can't believe it! My boys are going to have teeth already! Holy crap!
Callum's tooth is still in the process of breaking through but you can see it and feel it under the gums.

My mom said I had a ton of teeth by the time I was six months old. She finally had to stop breast feeding me a couple months later because I would bite her so much.....
That apparently stuck with me for quite some time, since I would get in trouble in preschool for biting other kids.

I put Taylor in the jumper thing last night and he sort of liked it. He looked more confused than anything! haha. I took pictures, I'll have to upload when I get home.

I have been bad and haven't taken many this week at all.
:(
I'm hoping with some Christmas money we can take the boys to get some professional pictures....that and we still need to make it Santa.
I have about thirty loads of laundry to do tonight.
Goodness I can't wait til we move.

Teething

I think the boys have both started teething. Callum isn't drinking nearly his usual amount, he just chews on the nipple and spits all the formula all over himself. He'll chew on my finger if I put it in his mouth. Taylor is the same, although he is still eating like a champ. I can feel little hard bumps on both of them in the same place, the bottom front area. I don't know how long it usually takes for teeth to break through, but I'll soon find out!

I realized that since I've become a mom I really can't watch the news. I just don't have the stomach for it. I can't stand hearing that some kid was shot at school, or another kid slit the other kid's throat. I just can't handle it. I'm way too emotional about it.

So, my bad mom story for the day. Yesterday morning Taylor was a bit fussy and I had to take a shower and start getting ready for work. He had eaten and been burped and we had some snuggle time. So, I found the Wiggles on tv and he immediately stopped crying and just went crazy for it. He was kicking his feet in the bouncy and squealing like mad. We apparently have a Wiggles junky. Whatever came on after he didn't like so much, so it must have been all the singing he really dug.
Callum will turn his head whichever way when I'm changing him or putting on clothes so he can see the tv. Not good. I have little tv junkies. But, I do try and put on kiddie shows when they're trying to look. I blame my mom's 50 inch tv. They never showed an interest until that thing mesmerized them.

I can't wait til we can get their exersaucers so they have a little more play time other than just on the floor with me holding toys over them. They have both been pretty disinterested in the play mat we bought them. We got the little fishy one, it doesn't have much to look at and they're bored with it.

3 Month letter to the boys

My little boys. You are three months old now. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were driving to the hospital to have you. I knew as soon as I had you that you were the babies that I had always dreamed of having. It was like I always knew you and I always knew your faces.
You have both grown so much. You spend Monday through Friday with your Aunt Ashley while mommy and daddy are at work. You have both really taken to her. She likes to make faces at you and and be silly and you both just laugh and laugh at her.
Thursday and Friday you spend with Nana and you love that. Nana sings you songs and plays with you all day. She always has one of you in her arms.

You both have such different personalities. You are each your own little person. You're both such good babies. Neither of you are ever fussy for no reason. You're content sitting in your bouncy seats, in the swing or in someone's arms.
I could spend all day staring at your beautiful little faces.

Taylor, you are always squealing and babbling. You are just so happy all the time. You wake up happy, smiling at everything. You have just realized that you can grab things and you have been grabbing at your Mr. Bee and crinkling his wings, you grab mommy's hair by the handfuls. You are doing so good holding your head up. You are only a little wobbly still. You have headbutted me a few times, but you are really getting the hang of it. You're almost sleeping through the night now.

Callum, you are such a sly little guy. You love giving big smiles, but only on your time and at your pace. You get this little look on your face like you know that we want you to give us a smile and you just give a little grin. You are starting to catch up with your brother. You are actually wearing 3-6 month sleepers now! You love to squeal and babble too. But, the same as the smiling you do it on your time. You love staring at the t.v., especially at Grandma Jill and Grandpa Floyd's house. We've tried to tell them that you want a 50 inch t.v. for Christmas! I don't think they're going for it. You're getting so much better at holding your head up too! You have headbutted me pretty hard a few times, but you just keep trying and in no time you'll be in control of that head looking all around.

You had your first Thanksgiving last week. You're still young to eat real food. So you got to feast on your bottles. We made three stops for Thanksgiving. We went and visited your Great Aunt Mary and you got your pictures taken with your second cousins Krissa and Jonathan. They're a month older than you, but you all look about the same size. You were both passed around and everybody said how cute you both are. After Aunt Mary's we went to Grandma Jill's & Grandpa Floyd's house. You got to see your Aunt Shannon, Aunt Ashley & Uncle Matt, your Great Aunt Jan and her boyfriend Tony. Later on you got to see my cousin Brionne and her husband Shane, my cousin Justyn and his girlfriend Heather and your second cousin Cayden that is three months older than you. He loved staring at both of you. Then we left and went to visit your Great Aunt Bernadine, by that time you were both exhausted and ready to go home. It had been such a busy day.
This year will be your first Christmas and even though you won't know what's going on I know that you will love the lights on your Grandma's tree. We're going to take you to see Santa next week and get your pictures taken!

Your dad and I love you two so much. You amaze us everyday.
Being your mommy has made me a better person. I can't imagine not having either of you in our lives.

Little Men

Another lazy day today as well. But, we did get dressed today. I used our coffee pot finally this morning. We got the boys dressed and went to Target and grocery shopping.
They slept almost the whole time and of course were the center of attention.
Here are some pictures of them in their outfits today.

They wanted to know if we were going shopping or what?!

Here are a few of the boys napping at Aunt Kristen & Uncle Jesse's.
We went over there house yesterday, ate left overs and Kristen and I managed to hit one store on black Friday.
We were banned from going to stores! haha

Taylor says, I'm done napping now mom

Pictures of him sleeping melt my heart to pieces.
The boys and I had a good day yesterday. We played on their mat, had some tummy time and just layed around and enjoyed the day relaxing.
We went to my mom's last night so they could say goodbye to my aunt and uncle who are driving back to Jacksonville this morning.
My Aunt Pam had lots of nice things to say and kept telling me what a wonderful mother I am and what a great family we have. That's such a sweet thing to say and makes me feel good.

Now on to some cute pictures of my sweethearts!

Taylor on the left and Callum on the right. Their hair looks red almost....I think the flash must do it.
