7 Months and 1 Day

oh my goodness! Our boys turned 7 months old yesterday! We're over half way to a year old.
I can't believe it. Time really is flying!
Taylor can sit up unassisted for a good amount of time now!
He gets excited and looks around and falls over. It's adorable.

We have our first birthday party to go to that the boys were invited to on Sunday. It's for my cousin Justyn's son Cayden.

Taylor bit Josh's mom and drew blood the day before yesterday. haha.
He attacked her hand and drew blood. I can't believe how many teeth they have now.
All they want to do is chew on things.

Wedding Post again

So...we have license in hand!! That was so surreal. We went last night to the county clerk and got #55 and they were on #95, eep. Well it turns out that they took us early because the marriage license program turns off early. We waited quite a while anyway but got out at a more reasonable time. We each filled out papers that said "groom" and "bride" on each of them, sat at the counter for a couple minutes...the lady imputed our information into their computer, printed out the license, we signed it, they gave us our copy and explained what our officiant has to fill out and where to send it off to.
It really makes it more real! I'm excited.
I figure I'll take the chance to update my list again of things to do.

Wedding Post

So...I'm going Wednesday to get my dress altered. My mom ordered a runner last night and we ordered a bouquet. I hope I'll like it once it comes. I got something real small. I didn't want one but was worried about what a dork I would be walking alone with nothing to do with my hands.
Kerry is amazing and gave me an AWESOME idea for a guest book. So I went and bought part of that last night.
I have to order my red chucks and we have to order Josh's shoes.
I ordered the boys suits already....I hope they fit ok and I am sure they will look so adorable. I probably won't have them wear the jackets since it may be hot.
We are still trying to figure out food...since we're just doing hour'derves, trying to do not too many hot so we don't have to make the house ridiculously hot during the day...and so we aren't slaving over a stove all day.
I really need to make my hair apptointment...and do a trial.
I also need to go and get my nails done this week. I haven't had acrylics on in years. My hands did look so much better though. That and I won't be picking at them all day.
I need to find someone that can at least speak English so I can help them getting nails on my two short fingernails. My old nail tech was ingenious and found a way to get them on and still get a good amount of acrylic to hold them on.
I'm so nervous about all of this coming together.
We still need to WRITE the ceremony. hello big task.
We have books and stuff we just need to find the time to sit down and do it. It's not like we have twins or anything.
This has been a source of a few nightmares about the wedding.

ok so for my own peace of mind.

I also know that Josh is getting me something as a wedding gift...and I have NO CLUE as to what to get him.
aaaaaah.
The weekend was of course uneventful. But, I did get to try on my dress again and with the strapless bra I got. It looks much better with the crinoline skirt under it as well. I HAVE to take it to the tailor this week to have it taken in at the bust and hemmed up…and possibly bustled. Man when I tried it on with the crinoline my legs just started pouring sweat.
Saturday Josh had to work and it was just the boys and I. We had a great day. They were in a great mood and it was just a good day. It was so hot in our house. The guy who’s apartment controls our air was out of town and didn’t turn the AC on before he left. I thought I was going to die. We called our property company and got the emergency after hours number….and the phone was turned off and went straight to VM which said “we’re sorry the mailbox for this number is full” so we called our rental place back and left a few nasty messages over the course of the weekend. What if it had been something way worse, ya know?
Anyway, we got the boys to sleep in their cribs some this weekend and they slept in them last night until they got up for their 5am bottles. I was pretty happy about it!
I slept in there to make sure it went OK and they didn’t wake up wanting to know I was around. I am determined to get them in their own room, for my sanity I need to be able to sleep in my own bed again. No more sleeping in the living room.
We went and bought monitors yesterday and spent a ton of money at Sam’s. It’s just too easy!
I have some pictures that I finally got off my camera to share :)

So without further adieu…warning a bunch.

22 days to marriage!

Talk about pressure! I just looked at our knot web page and it said 22 days until you're married! uh, HOLY SHIT! It's coming so fast! I feel like there is so much more to do. But, last night we went and got my strapless bra for under my gown (i still need to take my gown in to be hemmed), we got Josh's pants, shirt and tie. yay!
My mom called a couple places to rent a table or two and some chairs for the backyard so people have some room to sit. During the ceremony it will all be standing.

We went and looked at a house last night. We put in our application this morning. I am really really hoping that we get this one! We both loved it. It's a charming 40s home, a 3/2 with half a finished basement and the other half is like work bench areas and the washer and dryer and basin sink. It has a walk up in the basement to the backyard and a two car garage...all wood floors.
I am totally crossing my fingers. I really loved it.
It's in a nice neighborhood on a dead end street and it seemed like a quiet little street.
Ok, no need to get my hopes up just yet.
I really really want it though!

Poor Taylor was miserable yesterday and cried for like two hours Nana said...poor thing is working on another tooth.
We got their first invite to a birthday party! My cousin's son Cayden is turning 1 the end of this month and his birthday party is at my other cousin's house on the 1st of April. I need to figure out what to get him!
Callum has started this new smacking his lips thing. It's hilarious.
Oh my boys....they are so adorable and I just love them to pieces.

I'm really hungry and wish I was going with the IT guys to the mexican place, instead I'm going to the county clerk's office. boo.
We have to go again to the clerk's when Josh and I can get time together to go and get our marriage license!!

Bridal Shower

I have some pictures from my bridal shower luncheon thingy from last Saturday and a couple from later in the day of us and the boys.

Saturday the luncheon was at 1pm, we moved it to 1 so we could enjoy the bottomless mimosas with our lunch!!

I love that Gina (Josh's mom) calls me to give me updates during the day when she thinks the boys did something cute. it makes me feel good to be able to sort of experience what's going on during the day.
she said that Taylor decided that he liked sweet potatoes today. he actually opened his mouth rather than the tight lipped face he's been making when you try to give him anything on a spoon.
he did however rip off his bib and throw it across the room, blow sweet potato raspberries and stick his hands in his mouth while eating.

goodness they're so adorable!

Pictures from Aunt Judy's Visit

she brought them mouse ears from disney...she lives like twenty minutes from disneyworld and goes all the time. (yes, i'm jealous)

Visit with Aunt Judy, Bridal Shower, more solids.

The internet is down at home again.
This weekend was ok. Friday I had off work and spent the day with the boys, my aunts and my mom. We went all over town and got plates, serving trays, forks and cups for the wedding. I felt like we at least got some things taken care of. Oh yeah...I bought the tulle for the arch...and I still need to buy flowers and take care of food stuff.

The boys were cranky as all get out the next day. Josh had to work Saturday so I was home with them all day Saturday and we did finally get some good naps in, so that was good.
When Josh got home, I went and dropped off our laundry and went to Target to find a top for the next day.

Sunday was my bridal luncheon thing at Cafe Emilie's...they had a brunch buffet with bottomless mimosas. We had a great time and the food was delicious.
After that I went home and got the boys changed, Josh took a shower and we went over to my mom's. They watched the boys while we went and cleaned the office. My cousin came over after the luncheon to see the boys since she hasn't seen them since about Thanksgiving.
It was awesome to get to spend time with my Aunt Judy too. The boys absolutely adored her. She cried and cried when we were leaving last night. She said it was sad that the next time she sees them they'll be up and walking.
I'll have to post pictures once everyone emails them to me.

We totally have to clean our apartment and get packed. It's so cluttered and I'm seriously going to lose it.
I hope we can find a place to move to sometime soon...but nothing is sticking out just yet.

I was rubbing Taylor's gums last night...and found a new tooth! He has one to the left of his two bottom teeth...so he now has three on top and three on the bottom!!! I can't believe how fast they're growing. My sweet boys.
I feel so bad when we have bad days like Saturday. They were just miserable. We really have to keep them on a better schedule. I just can't keeping them running with me all day. They have to have time to get a good nap in and not just napping in the car seats in between places.

We tried sweet potatoes this weekend! Taylor loved them and Callum dry heaved and gagged! haha. So we have one that hates bananas and one that loves them and the same with sweet potatoes...definitely two different babies!

House Hunting & Bananas

I feel like we're never going to find a place to live. I am totally frustrated.
I'm embarrassed that Kerry is going to have to stay in the pig sty that is our apartment right now.
We can't fit another thing into that place. I need to start going through stuff and packing and throwing things out. It's just so cluttered.

We went and looked at two houses last night. I had to force myself to realize that the one that I loved we just can't fit into. It was a brand new home, but only a two/two. It had a two car garage and the kitchen was a good size, but it was just too small..no matter how much I liked it.
The second house had a great upstairs but the downstairs was so weird. Why are builders making houses that never have dining rooms.. what the hell is with that?
It also had NO living room, I don't even know how anyone lived there before. There wasn't even room for a couch. It was weird.

The boys tried bananas this week. Taylor shakes his whole body when he eats them like they're too tart. He does like them mixed in with his oatmeal though.
Taylor is going to outgrow his bouncy seat here in no time...he's getting way too long for it. He did really well with sleeping in his co sleeper last night for a good four or five hours....the rest of the time he slept with mommy on her chest.
I have to say that I love it when they want to sleep with me. We always wake up extra sweaty...but I just love hearing them breath and rubbing their back while they sleep. These little boys amaze me every day. I love how excited they get when I get home from work. I love that I can tickle them in certain spots and I'm the only one that can get them to laugh. Oh, that laugh....it's the best sound in the world.
The boys have been doing pretty well with the oatmeal. Callum still isn’t all that interested. But he opens his mouth now. They had it three times yesterday!
I’m hoping we can take the rice out of the bottles now that they’re eating more solids.
(we had to put it in because of reflux from when they were little)
Next week we’ll start on bananas. I can’t wait to get the highchairs and put them together so we’re not feeding them in the bouncy seats. Although, I have no clue where they’re gonna fit!

Josh's mom had to get an MRI this morning. So I came into work late. It was the boys and I this morning. Callum and I were up by 7 and Taylor finally woke up around 8. We had floor time and we all played. They held hands and I took a bunch of pictures. Then I made the boys oatmeal and we got real messy.

It was a great morning.

The highchairs we ordered are in and at my mom's. I need to go and pick them up. Not that we have room for them.
We need to start packing so that we have some room in our house.

We went and looked at a 3/2 house for rent yesterday. It had a big unfinished basement. The house was pretty cute....kinda far out from the city. So, they said it was two bathrooms.......the second bathroom was a room in the basement with a tub. That's it. A TUB!
How weird and random is that. Also, what kind of people need just a tub in the basement?
We had a field day with our imaginations with that one.
The house creeped me out. So the hunt continues.

I'm starving and so busy here today. I need to go pillage the vending machine.

Solids

So at the doctor last week he urged us to start the boys on solids.
He suggested starting with baby oatmeal instead of rice since it has more fiber and won't stop them up as bad as the rice does.
Last night I decided even though we haven't gotten their highchairs that I would try out the oatmeal.
I put the boys in their bouncy seats and put bibs on them and sat on the floor. I spooned out of the same bowl to both of them. Taylor eagerly opened his mouth and hate quite a bit. Callum eagerly opened his mouth ONCE! haha. After that he refused to open up and decided that he hated oatmeal. He laughed and smiled as I fed Taylor and I tried to give him a bite each time anyway....even though he refused. Taylor was so excited and just ate it up. It was so cute. Josh got one or two pictures of Taylor's first bite before our damn camera battery died.
Josh said that Nana got Callum to eat some oatmeal this morning before his bottle!
:)

Taylor slept from about 11 last night til 5 this morning in the cosleeper! woot!!!! Either of them will only sleep on their tummys though.
The doctor also said that we are past the SIDS scare and if they roll to their bellies it's fine.

No luck with the house hunting just yet. We looked at another place yesterday. But the driveway was so DAMN steep. It was insane. No thanks.
We had a good weekend. We spent Saturday around the house with the boys playing and napping. Yesterday we went and looked at a couple houses to rent…we didn’t really like either.
We paid back Floyd for the van yesterday! Yay!
I still can’t decide if I want to buy a diamond with some of the money we have. Part of me really wants one…and the other can’t justify spending the thousand dollars.
Josh said we can always wait and save up so we can get something even better next year.

We ordered napkins, our serving set, lights for outside and a chocolate fountain for the wedding Friday. My mom just gave us her credit card information and told us to get whatever we needed and to send her the prices so she can take it out of our “budget”.

I finally uploaded some pictures from the camera so I’ll post a couple!
:)

I took a video of Callum in the jumper yesterday morning. He kept jumping even though he was mostly asleep…and then he’d fall asleep and if I called his name he would start jumping again like “I’m not asleep mom!”
It was so hilarious.
I couldn’t stop laughing.
I’ll have to upload that and post it later when I get home.

On to some baby love.
Sorry if they’re enormous…I’m apparently a retard with uploading my pictures lately.

The boys weren't really up for pictures yesterday. so i didn't get the 6 month pictures like i would have liked. the boys were surprisingly not too crabby after their shots.
but, they were real clingy the rest of the day.
they sure didn't like the doctor one bit. he suggested we see a plastic surgeon to get an opinion on their heads, since they are still a little crooked if you look at them from the top. he wants to be sure they'll correct on their own or if we have to get them helmets to correct it. i really hope it's the first one.

Callum is up to 15lbs 7oz from 13lbs 11.6oz last time he's measuring 25 3/8 inches from his 24 inches last time.
His weight is in the 25th percentile and height in the 10th. my little man.

Taylor is up to 18lbs 7oz from 15lbs 14.2oz last visit. he's measuring 26 1/4 inches from 26 last time. I think they aren't getting the measurements totally correctly. i know he's much taller than the last visit.

We have six more months to watch and see if Callum's other testicle ever drops...and if not the chance of surgery so they can go in and get it.
The doctor was adamant about us starting solids and getting them off so many bottles a day. I didn't like how pushy he was....but they could start solids now that they're at six months. I just don't need some pushy doctor telling me all pushy like about what we should do with them.
He said we should just throw out the pacifiers now since they don't really show any interest them mostly anyway...less of a headache later. I do agree with that. He of course also pushed about us getting them in their cribs now....which I pretty much agree with also...they're going to be outgrowing their swing and bouncy seats soon enough here.

We went and finished up some registering at Target for the wedding. Most of my family will probably give us cash...but it's always nice to have that option for people to look at if they want.

We decided that we're going to start buying a movie a week so we can beef up our DVD collection. Last night was my pick...we're going to alternate weeks. So, I picked The Little Mermaid! haha. it's one of those ones that are going to be going back in the "vault" so i figured no better time than now.
plus, it was one of my favorites....and Josh admitted that he thinks it's cute too.

I need to look around for outfits for the boys' six month pictures. We may wait and do that next week. I'm not totally sure yet.

We REALLY need to get on the ball about moving. We really need more space.

6 Months!

OH my goodness! I have six month old babies!!
We've made it a half year with twins and we're all still alive...and happy!
:)
I can't believe that my boys are getting so old!
We have our appointment today for shots and stuff :(
But, I do get to leave work at 1 and then be home after that. I'll get to take birthday pictures today! I'm hoping to take them this weekend and have pictures done. Only problem with that is I don't have an appointment yet....and I don't have outfits!
:)
Looks like I'll have to go shopping.
