Spriggs Family: February 2007

Hey everybody!
I hope that I can catch up some point today. I don't know if I ever wrote about it....but the part owner of the company I work for also owns a Motorcycle dealership. They gave me my annual raise and have me now working over there for three days a week. I really really like it so far. He is going to have me working on something to do more advertising for the company and getting them set up in a new program to manage their customer service. The past two days I learned the phone system and tried to learn everybody's names. It is such a great environment. Besides the fact that I can't get on the internet, it is just awesome. The people are great and it is so much more laid back. I am busy ALL day which is really nice. Plus, I'll get to see my pay increase on my next paycheck! woot!

With all that said...my computer is still broken :( But, I ordered a new hard drive last night and hopefully it will be here by Friday.
So right now I'll only have access to the internet about two days a week until my computer is fixed.
I miss reading everyone's posts and I'm sorry for being a bad lj friend this week!

Our wedding invitations came today!!!!! I was so excited to open the box. They look amazing. I was so nervous that I would hate them...but they're just like I had imagined!
I also got Joshua's wedding ring in the mail today! I hope that it fits just perfect.
I ordered my dress last week! It was the one I had originally posted about and posted the pictures of.

We have to take Callum to get his foot pricked today....this is for that newborn screening that they've messed up multiple times. Their pediatrician sent us something certified which of course our lazy mailman didn't even knock on our door for.....and I can only assume it's about us having to take him to get this done again.

hehe. I just bought my wedding dress!!! Well I ordered it anyway.
I am so excited and this also makes me so nervous!! The wheels are really in motion!
I hope that it comes and is just perfect.
I can't wait!!!!

Interview Questions

1. What made you choose the names you did for the handsome little men you have?
Ok this is gonna get long! : )
We had originally picked the name Jillian Taylor thinking for sure we were having a girl…I was still only like 6 weeks along! Haha.
Well, when we found out they were two boys we still loved the name Taylor.
Josh likes to choose names with Louisville street names in them.
So….Taylor is a street here and his middle name is Metz which is my Pappaw’s name. (actually his middle name but my grandma always called him Metz)
Callum was a name we came across in a baby book and it’s Scottish or Gaelic for dove. We just loved the name. His middle name is another street name here, Lee and also his grandma’s middle name. (mine too but mine is spelled Leigh)

2. What is your favorite and least favorite thing about having twins?
It's so amazing to see two little people that share the same birthday really have two totally different personalities.
It’s so awesome now that they are noticing each other and smiling and babbling at each other.
I think my least favorite thing about it, is having to always “juggle” babies. I feel like I don’t get a lot of time with just one unless the other is asleep. Someone is always waiting in the wings for their turn. So you can’t get as much one on one time.

3. What is your biggest fear?
I have a silly fear of ducks or any other bird that is ankle to calf height. I seriously get panic attacks around them. My parents raised chickens and roosters when I was real little and they liked to chase and peck me and the fear has just stuck with me all this time.
Other than that stupid fear now I am afraid of something happening to the boys or me turning out to be a terrible mother.

4. What is your favorite kind of music?
I have pretty eclectic taste in music. I can range from classical to death metal. I love classic rock probably just from growing up with my parents listening to it. I love rap, hardcore, sad bastard music and some country.

5. What did you think when you first found out you were having twins?
Josh and I went to an appointment at about 7 weeks to have a sonogram because I was having a TON of cramping and got really worried. The lady did an external and then did the dildo cam and said well this is why you are cramping so much hon.......there’s two!
My mouth just dropped open and I cried and turned to Josh to ask him if he was having a heart attack? He said no but he thought that I looked like I was.
All I could think was this is what we get for telling my sister and brother in law that they were gonna have twins when they had kids!

We aren't too far off from our wedding. Actually, two months and a day to be exact!!!!
I have some pictures of things that we've decided on mostly up to now.
We have an appointment this Saturday morning for cake tasting and we both have a pretty good idea about how we want it to look.
Josh drew out my mom's backyard yesterday so we can figure out how we want to decorate and set up an aisle for me to walk down.
I'm all giddy and excited.
I'm nervous about saying my vows in front of people but I'll just focus on him and I should be ok. I know I'll be a crying mess.....
Here are some of the plans already in action!

We ordered Joshua's ring last week. We ordered the same band that he proposed to me with and had the same thing engraved on the inside....so our bands will match :)

We both have the skinnier band. I thought he should get the thicker one but he didn't want it....he's going to get his finger tattooed after the wedding with XIII for our wedding day. I want to get a diamond tattooed on my finger as well.

This is also sort of what our invitations look like...that same paper but with platinum ink and different font. I forgot to get a screen shot of it when we did it.

And..........this is the gown that I found online. One of the girls in a wedding community I'm in had it on and linked the people she bought it from! I just fell in love. I always knew that I wanted a red dress and this was just so gorgeous.
I'm going to have them do it without the beading on the top part though.

Seeing all this together gets me real excited. I hope the dress makers get back to me soon.
Josh has been on the hunt for this box thing for a keg that hides it and makes it so you can use a beer tap like at a bar.....so it makes it a little less tacky. If he can't find one I don't really care if we have to just have people pump a keg. It is our friends and family after all.
All of this is going to be at my mom's house and her backyard.
I just hope that the weather cooperates.
Josh was going to make an arbor at work for us to stand in front of. We couldn't decide if we wanted a traditional arbor or have him make one the shape like the fireplace goes to in Beetlejuice....we both thought that would be neat and different.
He'll wear all black with a red tie most likely.

After realizing that soon enough I'll be losing my last name I decided that my last name will be a new tattoo on me somewhere. I'm not sure where....or if I'll incorporate it into my halfsleeve or not.

Old Fashioned

My mom has a lot of girlfriends that she has met through a garden chat room. They all meet once a year and exchange plants, go camping and just have fun. They have been sending us things for the boys since they were born. Our last gift were the handmade alpaca hats that the lady knitted. They’re gorgeous, still a little too big, but they should fit now before the winter is over.
Our newest gift is this set that another of the ladies knitted. The outfits have a hat, a jacket and a blanket all in white with blue trim. At first I was like uh ok. Josh turned his nose up at them! (to be expected when he wants to dress them in all black! lol)
I promised my mom I would put them on them to take pictures so she can send them to her friend who made them.
The pictures were adorable and they looked like little angels. The outfits look so old fashioned.
They’ll probably kill me when they get older for these, but they really did look so precious. The all white on babies is just such a great look for pictures…..you know, when they don’t barf on it.

I could only get the pictures that I had already uploaded to their totsite last night. I had some great pictures towards the end of Taylor trying to rip the hat off his head! Haha. The only time he’s ever tried to take a hat off.

I have some pictures of my cute boys that I've taken over the last week or so.
Taylor has started grinding his teeth and HOLY SHIT it gives me the creeps! You just hear this squeak crunch noise...ewwwwwww. oh god I can't stand it!
I'll have to mention it at the next appointment.
I'm trying to rearrange all our pictures on photobucket so that I don't have to worry about losing all our pictures if this computer finally crashes.
I created a new log in and am putting them in folders according to month. Hopefully they'll be easier to go through and find things.
I really need to order hard copies of some so I can put them in frames and in the picture book I started.

No wonder I woke up this morning to find another blanket. I checked the boys to make sure they were warm and went back to sleep.

Today in lovely Louisville the weather is

My mom offered up their house and backyard for our wedding and reception! yay!
My sister had her wedding there almost four years ago now. I didn't want to ask and put them out since Floyd is always complaining about NEVER having parties there again.
But she finally mentioned it yesterday. So now I can start trying to plan and doing our invitations. I have NO idea what I'm going to wear. I want a dress that is "tea party" length? I think it's called. It's like mid calf or so. I would like a white and red or all red dress.
Josh will probably wear black and red.
He finally decided that he wants a titanium band as well as his tattoo so I've been looking online at wedding stuff all day today.
I found some nice bands on overstock.com for him so I'll show him tonight and see what he thinks.
We're not sure how we'll decorate, what we'll have for food or what. We'll start buying some booze now to put aside. But we promised that we won't be participating in getting shit faced. We'll have the boys there as well....which I am sure my mom or his mom will be more than happy to help watch while we're mingling and partying and what have you.
We know we want a carrot cake wedding cake........Josh wants red invitations.....now on to what sort of wording to use. We don't know who will marry us. My aunt can marry us since she's a notary...so I may ask her.
I'll feel less stressed once we have some of this figured out and have at least our invitations sent out.
I'm excited and nervous all in one.
I hope the weather will be nice in April.
